Wish Bone Canine Rescue receives $4,000 grant as part of Subaru Loves Pets® initiative
NORMAL, IL - Wish Bone Canine Rescue has been awarded a $4,000 grant from Subaru of
Bloomington-Normal to help cover essential costs for preparing animals for adoption,
veterinary expenses, and more this October. The funding was administered by the ASPCA®
(American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and the effort is part of Subaru
Loves Pets®, a national Subaru initiative to support the lives of as many shelter animals as
possible.
As part of the initiative, Wish Bone will hold a special adoption event from 12-3 p.m. Saturday,
Oct. 17th at Subaru of Bloomington-Normal, 1430 Fort Jesse Road, Normal.
“Wish Bone is incredibly grateful for the continued support of Subaru of Bloomington-Normal
and Subaru’s national leadership,” said Wish Bone board member Linda Krueger. “This
partnership has made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many homeless dogs
throughout Central Illinois. Subaru’s commitment to rescue and adoption has a lasting impact
on pets and the people who welcome them into their families, both here in our community and
across the country.”
Since 2008, Subaru is proud to have donated more than $70 million to national and local
organizations that help in the adoption, rescue, transport and health of more than 900,000
animals and pets. Subaru of Bloomington-Normal will also help celebrate the eighth annual
National Make A Dog’s Day by encouraging the local community to do something special for the
dogs in their lives, adopt a shelter dog, or volunteer at an animal shelter and share the
experience on social media using the hashtag #MakeADogsDay.
