Holly

Pink

--posted November 9th, 2013

Holly is a 1-year-old female german shepherd mix.

I re-homed her 3 months ago to a family. Yesterday animal control called me and said she had been found 5 days prior wandering at least 10 miles from her home. When I contacted the family, they claimed they had never had her. I couldn't let her stay at the shelter but I need to find a new home for her.

Holly is still a puppy but she is well behaved. She has her hyper moments but for the most part she knows when to chill. She has not been around very many kids for me to make that call but she plays well with other dogs and likes to chase cats. I suggest her being an only dog but she has been trained to be around others. She is completely house trained, goes to the door to let us know she needs out. She loves to jump and run so we have her on a leash so she doesn't wander, but she can still run. Drinks a lot of water and loves to play with tennis balls. She is crated at night and when we leave the house, but when left out roaming the house she sits in the bay window and watches the neighbors cats wander. I have loved watching her grow and learn. She knows sit, down, and shake. We started with roll over and stay but they're still works in progress. She is good on a harness and leash but still somewhat pulls. She isn't a dog for someone who wants a lounge dog; she is very active and needs a lot of attention. She is very sweet and lovey and will comfort you when you need it.

Rebel

Pink

--posted November 9th, 2013

Rebel is a 2-year-old male doberman/hound mix.

We had a baby 8 months ago and unfortunately Rebel has grown to resent our son. He was first jealous but has since become territorial. In our son's best interest we need to rehome him.

Rebel is a very loving and loyal dog. All he wants is your attention and would let you snuggle and pet him all day. He would do great in a home with a retired couple or single retired woman. He would not do well with just men or in a house with children. He does okay around them if you are giving him attention as well. He is house and crate trained and can sit, stay, lie down, shake, and high five. He loves his "babies" and will carry them all over the house. He would not do well being kenneled/left alone for numerous hours everyday. He would also do best being the only animal and does not like to be rough housed. With a lot of love and attention he would reach his full potential. He really is an amazing dog that deserves a loving home.

Monty is a 7-year-old male dalmation.

Moving

Monty is a healthy, pure bread dalmatian that has been raised with our 4 children (who are now grown and moved out) in our country home. He loves attention, playing around and going for car rides. He will even smile! He gets along great with other other dogs & cats. He walks/runs with a leash but has never been fenced or tied up in the yard. He does not have any hearing deficit and will bark to let us know when someone comes to the door. Monty is up to date on vaccines and we have all records from the breeder and veterinarian. Harry

Pink

--posted October 23rd, 2013

Harry is a 1-year-old male bozerm mix.

I live in a condo with no yard. This dog needs a fenced yard or a farm environment. He needs to run alot. Also, I cannot get home to let him out at lunch and 8 hours is too long to be in a kennel.

Harry loves other dogs and is mostly good with kids although a little timid. Ok with cats. Knows how to sit. Pulls pretty hard on the leash since he never gets to run. He does not like to be left alone and will chew things if not in a kennel. It would be best if he is with someone that is home alot. He is scared of most men. He may growl a little but wouldn't bite.

Zoey

Pink

--posted September 12th, 2013

Zoey is a 2-year-old female cane corso mastiff.

A move to a home with small or no yard. She needs to be able to get a fair amount of exercise and job changes, along with moves, have made that extremely difficult.

Zoey is a gentle but very large dog. She has barked aggressively at a few people visiting our home but for the most part is very good around people and other dogs. She does not like squirrels. We have worked with a trainer and she walks fairly well with a harness leash, but if she sees a squirrel or rabbit she will pull. She needs a fenced yard or regular walking and loves to play with other dogs at a play group. She is an absolutely gorgeous dog and a sweet soul, but also a handful.

Kay

Pink

--posted September 12th, 2013

Kay is a 9-year-old collie.

Kay has anxiety issues and has occasions when she will deposit a stool in the house. The anxiety issues and fear of thunder and lightning sounds began about a year ago, so she wouldn't go outside or make an effort to let us know she wants out when the weather is bad. Now that is happening even when there isn't bad weather, and occasionally we'll find her droppings in the morning. It doesn't happen during the daytime when we're awake. We are older and this is difficult for us. Anxiety pills that we tried for a month didn't change her behavior. She knows she's done wrong, but the problem persists. We finally decided to euthanize her, but the vet suggested this site.

Kay's's a well behaved dog, passive temperament, has the herding instinct of a border collie so she always stays close even if in open spaces away from home, healthy, good with the great grandkids and adults, and loves to swim and romp the snow. She doesn't doesn't play much with other dogs and she's not at all aggressive in their presence. She doesn't take an interest in cats. Kay does chase squirrels, but not with a goal of catching them. She's black with white markings, about 50 pounds, and the hair is the length of a border collie. I don't have many electronic pictures.

Duke

Pink

--posted September 12th, 2013

Duke is a 3-year-old male pit bull mix.

I have to relocate to Missouri and the town i will be moving to has banned his breed! I am trying to rehome him because i can't take him with me and i want to give him a chance at a happy home.

He is a semi hyper dog, good on a leash but sometimes gets overly excited and will pull a little. He will run if he gets loose of leash so a fenced in yard would be best. Hes a jumper at times when he greets you and every once in awhile he will pee from excitement. He is great with kids, dog and cats but he is a vocal player he will growl and bark to get you to play with him, he loves to get the last word in. Some people mistake it for aggression but he has never shown any sign of aggression!! he loves blankets they are his favorite toy he loves tug o war!! He knows basic commands, and seems to be eager to learn.

Chi

Pink

--posted September 12th, 2013

Chi is a 6-year-old female rottweiler/shepherd mix.

Chi has been becoming increasingly aggressive to our other dogs which are pit bulls.

Chi is a great dog, but she has becoming increasingly aggressive to our other dogs which are pitbulls. I fear, if this continues, what could happen to her. Chi loves other dogs so this is a bit odd for her, however, she is very possessive over her "babies" (stuffed animals) and bones (when it comes to other dogs). She weighs right about 100 lbs., but she is not overweight by any means. She is very tall. She is a bit fearful of new people and she will growl and run away, but once they sit down, don't look at her, and give her time to check them out, she is all over them wanting their attention. Chi has injured her ACL a couple years ago, but the vet says she's not a candidate for surgery. We give her Asprin when it seems to be bothering her. She is up to date on all shots as well as hearworm checks and Hearguard and Frontline. We did hire "Bark Busters" in 2008 to try to work with her fears of people, but have been unsuccessful. Bark Busters will transfer to the new owner, one time, so anyone who gives her a home would still be able to utilize Bark Busters services. She does know sit, stay, shake, hi-5, speak, lay down, etc.

Lexus

Pink

--posted September 12th, 2013

Lexus is a 1-year-old female pitbull.

My kids and I are moving into our new apartment this weekend and they do not accept dogs.

Lexus has lots of energy and needs a good home with someone who will pay her attention. She has been raised around mt two sons that are 9 and 13. She is also good around other kids just loves to jump when gets excited. She barks at other dogs but is scared of them. She has been around cats and loves to play with them but cats always scratched her on her nose. She is good on a leash for a walk but is a bit strong so suggest for an adult to walk her. She is very protective of our family so may bark at strangers but has never attacked. She is potty trained and stays in her cage while we are gone. She loves to chew on bones and raw hides. She sleeps with a blanket. Loves attention. Would be great if she had a yard to run in. She lovs to play catch with tennis balls and even plays with basketballs and footballs. Keep your shoes away cause for some reason she loves to chew them! Our family loves her to death but we are moving and they will not allow dogs in our new home.
